The Human Resource Department of the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly held a 2-Day in-house capacity building workshop for staff of the Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, February 01 – Thursday, February 02, 2023 at the Conference Hall of the Assembly.
The purpose of this capacity building program was geared towards refreshing the memory of staff and bringing newly employed officers of the Municipal Assembly up to speed with the structure, organization and management of the Local Government Service.
Day 1 of the training program focused on the Local Government Service Protocols and excepts of the functions and responsibilities of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) as enshrined in the Local Governance Act (Act 936).
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Justice Amoah duly presented and explained the key roles of the MMDAs within their various districts and the reporting channels that harness the collaborative working relationships that should exist between all staff.
The Human Resource Manager, Mr. Raymond Adjetey Adjei also took the lead in clearly explaining the Protocols of the Local Government Service and its significance.
Day 2 of the training also centered on the Performance Management and Appraisals used in assessing the output of all staff employed by the Local Government Service on Grade 15 and above, employed since 2019 till date.
All staff of the Municipal Assembly showed their gratitude to the management of the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly for this long awaited training program.
