On June 10, 2022, As part of efforts of greening Ghana with the goal of planting twenty million (20M) trees launched by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly arranged to execute their part of the project by converging in front of the Office of the Ghana Education Service.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu, Nanamom within the Municipality, Saltpond Divisional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, other stakeholders, staff and community members converged in front of the Newly constructed District Court to kick-start the exercise.

Hon. Ike Lord Ennu, in his opening remarks stated that, this exercise is in support of the Presidents efforts to preserve the environment. He also mentioned that Municipality has received 5,700 seedlings to start the project and hope to receive more in subsequent days. He encouraged everyone in the Municipality to take an active part in this tree planting exercise.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu tasked all and sundry to make it a matter of need to make constant follow-ups on the seedlings planted to ensure that the seedlings stand the test of time to grow in order beautify the environment and to help restore the effects of the climate change.
