Following the successful implementation of the first phase of training on administrative data collection organized by the Ghana Statistical Service across 110 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), it became imperative to expand this exercise to cover the rest of the MMDAs not covered during the first phase.
On 29th and 30th March 2023, the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly also had its share of the above mentioned data collection training during the second phase. The training was geared towards assisting the Municipal Assembly and key stakeholder institutions such as The Ghana Police Service, Ghana Water Company Ltd., Electricity Company of Ghana Ltd., Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, etc. to use the template provided during the training to compile a comprehensive and relevant administrative data for the Municipalities.
The participants present at the training were helped to appreciate the essence of compiling relevant and accurate data for the Municipality using an MS Excel offline based template designed by the Ghans Statistical Service.
In a bid to also facilitate and ensure that this data compilation exercise is successful, the Ghana Statistical Service presented a Laptop Computer to the Statistics Department of the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly. This was received by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Justice Amoah and subsequently also handed over to the head of the Statistics Department, Ms. Nusrat Osei-Bonsu.
We look forward to the full rollout and implementation of this project.
