The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr Nana Ato Arthur, accompanied by the Chief Director of the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS), Mr Kingsley Agyei-Boahene, made an unannounced visit to the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly in the Central Region on April 21, 2023. They were warmly received by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu, and the Coordinating Director, Mr Justice Amoah, as well as other staff members.
During the visit, Ing. Dr Arthur expressed his optimism in the Assembly’s potential to improve service delivery and encouraged staff to adopt measures to facilitate the swift development of Mfantseman. He stressed the significance of staff dedication to the success of the Assembly and urged them to work meticulously to achieve the Assembly’s desired goals for the year 2023. Ing. Dr Arthur also cautioned staff against participating in partisan politics and the creeping culture of indiscipline among staff, advising management to sanction culpable staff.
Ing. Dr Arthur used the platform to call on staff to exhibit a high sense of professionalism in their work and be the best ambassadors of the Assembly, working collaboratively with the MCE to achieve success. The Head of Service’s visit to the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly has undoubtedly left a positive impact on the staff, instilling a sense of purpose and dedication towards achieving the Assembly’s goals. The surprise visit by the Head of Service highlights the government’s commitment to improving service delivery in local government service.

Focus on productivity in the Public Sector and not this kind of visits. Provide the tools they need to work and measure them by their output.
