The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, held community engagement sessions at Ewoyaa and Krofu within the Mfantseman Municipality.
The engagements formed part of efforts to gather the views, concerns, and expectations of residents of the affected communities, including Ewoyaa, Krampahkrom, and Krofu, regarding the proposed lithium mining activities in the area.
The sessions provided a platform for community members and stakeholders to share their perspectives on the potential opportunities and challenges associated with the project, while also promoting dialogue and community participation in the decision-making process.
Addressing participants, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, assured residents that the Government of Ghana remains committed to ensuring that any lithium mining activities undertaken within the Municipality are carried out responsibly, sustainably, and in a manner that promotes local development, protects the environment, and safeguards the interests and well-being of affected communities.
The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly remains committed to engaging stakeholders and fostering collaboration to ensure that development initiatives within the Municipality deliver lasting benefits for residents and future generations.
