On 5th February 2026, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mfantseman, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, undertook a familiarisation tour of selected health facilities within the municipality. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint himself with the operations of the facilities, interact with health personnel, and identify the challenges they face to improve healthcare delivery in the municipality.
The facilities visited were:
- Dominase Health Centre
- Duadze CHPS Compound
- Kyeakor CHPS Compound
During the tour, the MCE inspected key service units including the Out-Patient Department (OPD), consulting rooms, Family Health Unit, emergency unit, male and female wards, maternity/labour ward, and Antenatal Care (ANC) unit.
It was observed that a total staff strength of 47 health workers serves an estimated population of 14,000 people within the catchment areas of the facilities.
In his remarks, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah expressed appreciation to the health professionals for their dedication and commitment to saving lives and serving humanity. He encouraged them to continue their good work and assured them that the concerns and challenges raised would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for the necessary support and intervention.
The visit provided an opportunity for the MCE to gain first-hand insight into the operations and needs of the health facilities. It is expected that the issues identified will inform future interventions aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery within the Mfantseman Municipality.
