The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, has engaged the leadership of the Mankessim Traders Association to address concerns relating to the construction of the 24-Hour Economy Market Project at Mankessim.
The engagement provided a platform for the Assembly and the Traders Association to discuss issues raised by some members of the Association regarding the project and to explore ways of ensuring its successful implementation.
At the end of the discussions, the concerns raised were satisfactorily addressed, and the leadership of the Traders Association pledged their full support and cooperation towards the successful execution of the project.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Assembly to brief the Association on discussions held with the contractor for the 96-Lockable Stores Project at the old Ajumako Station. The Association was informed that the contractor is expected to return to site in the first week of February 2026 to continue and complete the project.
The Assembly further informed traders that hoarding of the project site would commence on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, requiring traders operating around the area to temporarily vacate their locations to allow construction activities to proceed.
The MCE, together with the leadership of the Traders Association, appealed to all affected traders to cooperate with the Assembly and support the smooth and timely execution of the project.
