Also in attendance were the hospital administrator and Saltpond traditional leaders led by Nana Baa III.

Dr. Michael Gyasi Danso, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, welcomed the MCE, Nananom, the assessors, and everyone present for making time out of their busy schedules to join them for the year’s assessment.

The MCE, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu, thanked the hospital authorities for the opportunity accorded him to be part of the all-important annual exercise that seeks to examine and adopt new and better approaches to health delivery when the need arises. He also commended the entire health staff for the wonderful and dedicated services they are rendering to the people within and outside the municipality, despite the many logistical challenges they face.

Further, he intimated that, Mfantseman is the biggest municipality within the region in terms of population, and that the hospital will have to be well-resourced to be able to accomplish its sole mission of providing quality health care to its many beneficiaries. MCE earnestly appealed to the assessors to be fair, and firm and also send an apt report of their findings to the final decision maker (s) so that, the needed amenities (deliverables) would be provided.

The assessment was based on seven (7) thematic modules with not less than eight (8) indicators under each model. After presenting on the first six (6) modules, the assessors highly scored the hospital with the lowest percentage score of 63.92 for a particular module. The Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Michael Gyasi Danso, was satisfied with the high percentage scores.

The MCE sort permission to leave to attend to another important assignment after witnessing the first six (6) presentations by the assessors. He reminds the health practitioners of their calling of rendering unconditional service to humanity and pleads with them to do so with all the wisdom and strength in them.
