Stakeholders’ Engagement on the Construction of the 24-Hour Economy Market at Mankessim

The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly convened a stakeholders’ engagement meeting on Tuesday, 17th February 2026, at the Ebenezer Methodist Church to discuss the proposed construction of a 24-Hour Economy Market in Mankessim.

The meeting formed part of the Government’s broader 24-hour economy initiative, which aims to promote continuous economic activity, strengthen local commerce, create employment opportunities, and improve market infrastructure within the municipality. Discussions focused on the anticipated socio-economic benefits of the project, while also providing a platform to address concerns, gather input from key stakeholders, and build consensus for the smooth implementation of the proposed market.

Stakeholders present included market women, traditional authorities, driver unions, and other relevant groups whose roles are essential to the success of the project. The Assembly emphasized that the views, suggestions, and contributions of these stakeholders are critical to effective planning and execution.
