On Monday, November 20, 2023, Mr. Michael Owusu Amoako made a planned visit to the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly as part of his familiarisation tour to some selected Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA’s) in the Central Region of Ghana, following his Assumption of duty as the newly appointed Regional Director of the Central Regional Coordinating Council.
He was duly welcomed by the Municipal Chief Executive of the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Justice Amoah, and all staff of the Assembly.
He iterated his vision and mission for the Central Region, among which was to improve in the standards of service delivery in the Central Region across all the MMDA’s, and to work relentlessly to improve staff development and capacity building.
As part of his remarks, he expressed his displeasure against negative attitudes toward work of which absenteeism and lateness to work dominates and cautioned the staff to work very hard at improving upon their punctuality. He vehemently spoke against gossip amongst co-workers that have filled the service and bemoaned staff to desist from such attitudes. He reiterated that divulging of information from the office is an inappropriate and unprofessional act that it is punishable within the service and anyone found guilty will face the right sanctions.
Conversely, he encouraged all staff to take full advantage of their Annual leaves in order to have sometime off work to rest so they can return at the right time with renewed energy in order to give off their best.
