The Handing over of site ceremony for Phase I of the Construction of the bulk storage market at Mankessim (Ansaadze) was done at the construction site on Wednesday, November 01, 2023.

The project is funded by the World Bank under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program. The Phase I of the project had been splitted into two (2) Lots, and subsequently handed over to two (2) contractors. The Lot 1 which is titled: “Construction of Two (2) Storey, Thirty-Six (36) Number Lockable Stores” was awarded to Kontraata Limited. The Lot 2 also titled as: “External Construction Works at the Integrated Bulk Market at Mankessim (Site Preparation and Clearance, Access Road, Box Culvert, U Drain, Electrical Installation and External Water Supply and Distribution)” was awarded to Evedoor Company Limited.

The consultant supervising the project, KE & T Consult impressed on the two contractors the urgency of the project and highly encouraged them to work diligently and according to schedule, since the completion of the projects are under strict timelines.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, Hon Ike Lord Ennu, presented the structural plans and details of the work to the contractors and made a passionate appeal to them to mobilize all their resources and get to work immediately.

The contractors both expressed their appreciation to the Employers of the project, the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly and the Consultants, KE & T Consult for the opportunity they have to work closely with them on these projects, and assured that they will expedite action to meet the timelines as set forth within the contract.
