Several crucial points emerged in a recent community engagement organized by the Municipal Assembly and Atlantic Lithium Company on September 4, 2023.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ike Lord Ennu outlined the engagement’s objectives, including dispelling misinformation about the company’s activities, updating the community on progress, and assuring full community benefits. He emphasized transparency in the transactional relationship between the company and the community.
Kofi Antwi Bosiako, the company’s representative, clarified that the company had not received a commercial license for operations and was awaiting an environmental impact assessment report. He assured the community that their concerns would be addressed through a consultative committee.
Nana Takyi called for patience and community support for the company’s success, emphasizing the importance of positive collaboration between the community and Atlantic Lithium Company. This engagement highlights the importance of transparency, community involvement, and adherence to regulations in ongoing lithium exploration activities.
