The MCE and his team visited Atlantic Lithium Company on the 23rd of March 2022 at Baifikrom.
On their arrival, Mr Iwan Williams and Mr Abdul Razak , the officials at Atlantic lithium company, welcomed the MCE Hon Lord Ike Ennu and his team from the Mfantseman municipal assembly.
Atlantic Lithium’s strategy is to create sustainable shareholder value through developing and producing its Lithium assets in West Africa. The company’s flagship project, the Ewoyaa Lithium project in Ghana, is said to be the first Lithium producing mine in West Africa.
Hon Lord Ike Ennu, the MCE, then commended the company based on what he had heard about them before assuming the position as an MCE and therefore, their operations in the exploration into such a critical resource could add to the development of the municipality with regards to employment and revenue generation, he said. However, they will heed what the MCE said regarding doing the needful to help the municipal at large when they expand, or  when the need arises in their subsequence years.
Again, Mr Abdul raised some critical challenges regarding licenses needed for full-scale mining operations and possibly starting entire operations next year, 2023. The company requires four licenses for full-scale operations but is currently pursuing two , which are expensive and very rigorous in its acquisition. The MCE pledged his support to the company to ensure a good working relationship and Both parties (Assembly and Company) promised to support each other and engage more to ensure they acquire all the necessary licenses and documentation for commercial mining by 2023.
