40th National Farmer's Day at Dominase

The 40th Farmers’ Day celebration in Mfantseman Municipality honored farmers and fisherfolk for their crucial role in food security and sustainable agriculture. The event highlighted the challenges posed by climate change, such as erratic weather and declining crop yields. To address these issues, the municipality emphasized the importance of climate-resilient practices, government initiatives like the Planting for Food and Jobs program, and community-led efforts to support farmers.

The celebration recognized the invaluable contributions of farmers and fisherfolk to Ghana’s food security and economic growth. The Municipal Chief Executive acknowledged the challenges faced by farmers in Mfantseman, particularly due to climate change and poor soil quality. To mitigate these challenges, the municipality is promoting sustainable agricultural practices like crop diversification, agroforestry, and improved water management.

The 40th Farmers’ Day celebration honored outstanding farmers in Mfantseman Municipality. Other award winners were recognized for their contributions in various categories, including crop farming, female farming, veteran farming, youth farming, and agricultural staff.
