The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Joseph Acquaye Derben and team of delegates from the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly paid a working visit to Q3 quarry site at Abonko in the Mfanteman Municipality on Thursday 24th March, 2022. Also in attendance were the Presiding Member, Hon. John Afful and Hon. Fiifi Asare.
They were welcomed by a manager of the Q3 Quarry Company Ltd. Mr. Charles Dicket, and the managing director, Dr. Daniel Mckorley (MCDAN).
The purpose of the visit as stated by The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu was to acquaint themselves with the activities of the company and to deal with complaint made by nearby communities regarding excessive dust produced from the quarry activities.
Dr. Mckorley assured the team that they will work tirelessly to reduce the dust resulting from their activity to the barest minimum.
The Municipal Chief Executive reminded Q3 of their cooperate-social responsibility within the Municipality as far as their activities are concerned.
The Managing Director assured the Municipal Chief Executive that they will work assiduously to support the development of the Municipality and also appealed to the Municipal Chief Executive to enforce the mineral commission Law that states “building being residential or industrial should be sited 500 meters away from quarry site”.
Finally, Mr. Dicket expressed his appreciation to the Municipal chief and his team for their visit and planned a good relationship with the Assembly. The visit was climaxed by a tour of the quarry site.
